Another POOPY day

So, we have been potty training Evan for way too long (since beginning of January). He has good days and bad ones. We are in a bad week! Yesterday he pooped twice in his underwear (I'm too stubborn to put pull-ups or diapers back on him because then he's won!)- once while we were waiting at the service place to get our stereo put back in our car. It was a big ordeal to get the kids to the bathroom. After the car was done, I told the kids we could go to the mall to get an ice cream (another incentive for Evan to pee in the toilet). While we were playing on the toys at the mall, Evan pooped again in his underwear. At this point I was out of fresh underwear, so we cleaned him up and just put his pants back on. Finally we were home and he peed in his underwear!! I was about to lose it!

So, I thought today should go better. We had a spring party at Morgan's school- very cute with lots of sugar! Evan pooped while we were there. I threw the underwear in the dumpster behind the school. We get home and it's time for him to take a nap. (Well, he never sleeps, but I make him lay in his bed). After about a half hour, I smell poop. I went in to investigate and find him reading books on his bed with poop in his underwear. So, he is now sitting on the toilet until he poops in the toilet. He's been there for about an hour and hasn't pooped yet. I guess the bathroom is more entertaining than his bedroom. I'm hoping tomorrow holds good things for the potty training!

THE STORY CONTINUES...

Well, after finishing this post, I went to check on Evan in the bathroom. It turns out that the bathroom WAS more fun than taking a nap. Although there was no poop in the toilet.

He "cleaned" the mirror with soap and a toothbrush. I then saw the sink:

He took out the stopper and stuffed toilet paper down the hole. This is what I managed to get out:

He had a lot of fun and my frustrations with his lack of pooping in the toilet have subsided. I do love this kid!

  1. Wow! Yuk! I would have been back in pull-ups a long time ago! You are braver than me! Good luck!
